Anthrax 40th Anniversary Celebration Livestream Concert
How do you fit 40 years of one of the most influential thrash metal bands for this particular metal head into one livestream concert celebration and the truth is you can’t, but the boys, now grown ass men of Anthrax definitely did their damnedest with a blistering 22 song set list that covered the majority of their hits spanning all 40 years.
Opening with Fight em til you can’t then rolling from Madhouse into Caught in a Mosh and I knew we were off to the races and ripping down memory lane from the days when they had a lot of hair and into the days of no hair and grey hair, regardless these rippers have stood the test of Time (Ticking, Ticking in my head!!)
Opening riffs of I Am the Law still gets me pumped and ready for Judge Dredd to take the stage, and the train kept a rollin all night as these guys aren’t just a concert, they’re an experience. And these exact sentiments were echoed by many of their musical peers and fans from the entertainment industry all throughout the night as little video exerpts were played throughout the night paying ohmage to the career of Anthrax. The event was well put together and the tributes were all spoken from a HEARTful of Metal.
Don’t believe me, tune in and see it for yourself. Joey Belladonna fucking still nails it with Medusa bro!! And yo, Chuck D taking the mic to literally BRING THE NOISE with Anthrax…..Fuggedaboutit!!! They may not have been able to get everything you wanted in the set from 40 years of bangers, but they got in everything you NEEDED. And they wrapped this celebratory thrash metal hoopla up with the title track from the Album that sucked me into this type of music when I was a wee lad in high school, AMONG THE LIVING.
What a party it’s been and cheers to 40 more years of Spreading The Disease (Insert social media fact checker announcement here) . If you were on the fence about ordering this global streaming event, get off the fence and in the living room pit, because it’s definitely well worth it.
